IJNS forthcoming Special Issue: Implementation Science
The International Journal of Nursing Studies journal will be publishing a Special Issue in 2012 devoted to research which highlights key efforts to improve implementation science in nursing.
In the light of global initiatives to improve patient safety and promotion of evidence based practice, health care workers are increasingly held accountable for the care they provide. Though the dominant focus is often on medical providers, nurses are not exempt.
Many current examples of research demonstrate that gaps between knowledge and current practice still exist and such gaps lead to questions regarding nurses’ professionalism and threaten the safety and quality of patient care. Given these difficulties in achieving evidence based practice, insight into implementation difficulties and effective implementation strategies is pivotal.
As a result The International Journal of Nursing Studies (IJNS) invites submission of papers which contribute to building the knowledge base for Implementation Science for nursing for publication in a forthcoming Special Issue which will highlight key efforts to improve implementation science in nursing internationally.
